James Calvin Whiting, Jr.

Mr. James Calvin Whiting, Jr., age 73 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at his home following a brief bout with cancer, surrounded by family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

James was born October 19, 1951 to the late James Calvin, Sr. & Estelle Elizabeth Moore Whiting in Gainesville, Georgia. He was a very talented man that with a great sense of humor, who loved his family. He loved nature, was a great gardener, huge sports fan, and an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Miller Whiting of Gainesville; son, Fletcher Whiting of Tucker; sister, Pam (Gary) Sandberg of Woodstock; brother, David (Darbie) Whiting of Lexington; nieces & nephews; and many loving relatives.
