Billie Myrtle Grabowski, age 84, was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on January 11th, 2025, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was born November 13th, 1940, in Waukegan, Illinois, to father, Lyle Tallman and mother, Vivian Tallman Parker, and helped raised by her stepfather, George Parker. She worked at Mark Drugs as a pharmacy technician in Wheeling, Illinois, as well as a bank bookkeeper. She married Gary Grabowski on February 13th, 1960, and they were together for 38 years until his passing in 1998. She was a loving mother to Tom Grabowski, whom the Lord called home in 2017. She was a member of Church on the Hill and lived in Flowery Branch, GA, where she was loved by all who knew her.
Billie's strength of character and unwavering dedication to her loved ones served as inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to know her. She showed everyone what true faith in the Lord can do by staying strong in the face of adversity, including the loss of her father at an early age, and later her mother, husband, son, and sister, Katherine “Kitty” Green, as well as many battles with her health. Her wisdom, perseverance, and compassion helped many in need and will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by her friendship.
Billie is survived by her sisters, Karen Eaton, Louise Weckbacher, and her husband,
George Weckbacher; brother, David Parker, and his wife, Loretta Parker; her adopted family, Donna and Josh Dotson, and their children, Corbin and Carter Dotson; many nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great-nieces and nephews; and the band of faithful friends who helped Billie navigate these later years of her life.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00am at The Church on the Hill, 4600 Nelson Brogdon Road, Sugar Hill, GA 30518. Rev. Jeff Coleman will officiate.
