Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Rachel Timms Taylor, age 87, of Hoschton, Georgia, who passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Mrs. Taylor was born in Gainesville, Georgia, a daughter to the late Rev. R.A. and Viola Cleveland Timms. Mrs. Taylor had worked at Crystal Farms and later was a dispatcher for Dahlonega Equipment. She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and her favorite thing to do was to read and study the Bible. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Taylor.
Survivors include her children, Rudy Jones and his wife Jackie of Jefferson, Randy Jones of Talking Rock, GA and Rita Allen of Hoschton; sisters, Frances (Jim) Brock of Gainesville and Betty Timms Capes of Jefferson; brothers, Jack (Betty) Timms of Gainesville, John (Lynda) Timms of Gainesville; grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Baker, Jenice Baker and Miranda McDowell; numerous great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 11:30 AM in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville, Georgia, with Rev. Cary Pittman officiating.
