William (Bill) Glenn Pierce

Obituary Date: Sunday, January 12, 2025

Mr. William (Bill) Glenn Pierce, age 91, of Easley, SC, died Sunday, January 12th, 2025, at the Benton House of Sugar Hill in the north Atlanta area; he was born in South Carolina in the town of Slater-Marietta, on August 11th, 1933.

He grew up on a farm in upstate South Carolina near the town of Slater-Marietta and graduated from the high school there in 1950.
Soon after graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Air Force where he learned how to repair/service jet aircraft which would propel him into his career as an aviation mechanic. William retired from the profession of airline mechanics after a long career with Continental, Alaska and United airlines in Seattle, Washington. Coming from farm life in his youth with an aptitude for mechanical work, he was quite a handyman keeping things in good order for the family to have an enjoyable and comfortable lifestyle. Committed to his family, he was very much involved in caring for and supporting family members during times of need, especially caring for his wife during her struggles with dementia (he loved her immensely).

William G Pierce was the oldest child of the late Wade and Ruby Pierce family and was proceeded in death by his second son, Steven Pierce, and also Lora Laoma Pierce, his beloved wife. Bill lived in the North Atlanta area, GA, since 2021 and before that resided in multiple locations including Easley, South Carolina, Kent, Washington, Honolulu, Hawaii, Denver, Colorado and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is survived by his two sons, Michael Pierce in Redmond, WA, and Bradley Pierce along with wife Ann Pierce, and Zoey Chen-Lepkoff (daughter) and their twin children Kaden and Kaelyn Pierce in Cumming, GA, in addition to Bill's siblings Curt Pierce, Joyce Mullinax and Terry Pierce.

Viewing will be performed on Saturday, January 18, 2024 at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA, between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.  Procession and Cemetery service will follow immediately after the viewing. Interment will be in the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Cemetery in Suches, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people instead intentionally perform an act of kindness in remembrance of William G. Pierce.
