Joe Kline of Gainesville, Georgia, passed January 8, 2025, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born in Huntington, Indiana on September 28, 1951 to Marvin (Murph) Kline and Phyllis J. Williams. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1969. Joe attended Indiana State University with a Baseball Scholarship. He was an avid ball player and was a fierce competitor.
Joe begin his career in the Erie Lackawanna Railroad, following in his father’s footsteps. After the railroad closed down in Huntington, Joe worked for Hayes Lemmez, INTL in Huntington were he was instrumental in the development of the welding technology for aluminum wheels. It was his knowledge of welding that brought him to Gainesville, Georgia. Joe loved photography, he could spend the entire day taking pictures. Joe was known at the Toccoa Motor Speedway as the PictureGuy.
It was in Georgia that Joe met and married the love of his life, Pat Morgan Coward, they married on May 20, 2000.
He is survived by his wife Pat Kline; brother David (Lynn) Kline, Hastings, MI; sister Carla (Fred) Rock, Middleville, MI; Sister Julia (Tony) Marsh, Warren, IN; Son Aaron (Paula) Kline, NC; Step-sons Chad (Dee) Coward, Cornelia GA and Todd (Bonnie) Coward, Jefferson, GA; Step-daughter Christi (Tim) Welch, Homer, GA; 8 grandchildren and great grandchildren; 26 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Phyllis Kline; daughter Sarah Abigail Kline Gorman
A memorial service will be held on January 17, 2025 at 5:00 pm at The Depot of Lula, at 5911 Wall Street, Lula GA.
