Diane Mildred Locke Dorsey, 76, of Oakwood, died on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 4:20 a.m. at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Diane was born to Grady and Mildred Locke on Aug. 15, 1948, in Toccoa.
She attended high school at East Hall and for brief periods at Tift College and Lanier Tech.
Diane worked as a paraprofessional with the White County School System for some 10 years. She loved nature, spending time outdoors visiting gardens and growing her own flowers and setting up birdhouses.
The love of her life, Rondall Dorsey, preceded her in death in 2008.
Diane loved spending time with friends and family and adored her three sons; Todd, Robert, and Andrew, as well as her grandchildren; Savannah and her husband Michael:, Calvin, Summer, Ava, Alex, Josh, and Ashley.
Diane was a Christian. She loved her Lord Jesus and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lula.
Survivors are mother Mildred Brookshire Locke of Lula, sisters Barbara (Marvin) Moore and Beverly Chapman of Lula, sons John Todd (Michelle) Truelove of Alto, Robert Grady (Patricia) Truelove of Oakwood, and Andrew Locke (Laura) Truelove of Buford, and her seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2024 starting at 3 pm until 4pm at Lula 1st Baptist Church. A memorial service is scheduled for 4 pm Saturday, January 18, 2024 at Lula 1st Baptist Church.
