Mrs. Annie Maxine Archer, 80, of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville following a sudden illness.
The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. David Matthews and Rev. Matthew Vandergriff will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born on April 7, 1944 in Maysville, she was the daughter of the late William Nelson Samples and the late Niecie O ’Bryant Samples. She was a graduate of South Hall High School. Mrs. Archer worked for W.T. Grant before taking a position at Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she worked in medical records.
Grandmama was the light of the family! The one who kept us in line and together. She loved her family with a fierceness, but most of all to know Maxine is to know she loved her babies more than anything. Her great grandbabies were her whole world. She loved her church family and being a member of and singing in the choir at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Additionally she loved shopping at Belk’s and Kohl’s.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Archer was preceded in death by her brothers, Caroll Webster Samples and Raymond “Bud” Gerold Samples; sisters, Vallieree Casper, Janet Samples, Barbara Giles, Johnnie Pittman, Pamela Gale Samples.
Mrs. Archer is survived by her husband, Jack Archer of Gainesville; children, Janet Archer Cummings of Flowery Branch, Kimberly Archer Bridges of Flowery Branch, Joseph Patrick Montgomery (Peggy) of Lula, Mark Brian Archer (Ann) of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Breanna Amber Rindahl, Kristen Eleni Farr, Jonathan Adam Archer, Paige Bridges Holley, Zachariah Jack Archer; great grandchildren, Odin Michael Rindahl, Brooklyn Archer Rindahl; sister, Lydia Ann Samples Whiting and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
