Donnie Gowder

Donnie Gowder, born on November 13, 1953, in Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence in Maysville, Georgia, on January 5, 2025 from pancreatic cancer.  He was 71 years old.

Donnie dedicated 25 years of his professional life to Baker and Taylor, where he excelled as an IT computer specialist. His career was marked by his commitment to innovation and excellence, as he contributed significantly to the advancements in technology during his tenure.

He is survived by his brothers, Jerry Gowder and Thomas Bolton; and his sisters, Wilda Brock, Debra Strickland, and Ann Osgood, a number of special nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.

Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Gowder; his mother, Lila Mae Scroggs Gowder; and siblings Calvin Bolton and Geneva Savage.

A visitation to celebrate Donnie's life will be held on January 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service commencing at 3:00 PM. Both events will take place at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529.
