It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Timothy Annis, a beloved chiropractor, devoted husband, and cherished father, who left this world on December 25,2024. Born in 1963 to the late Reverend James B. and Dorothy Annis, Tim’s journey began in Ghana, West Africa, where he spent his early years as the son of missionary parents. This unique upbringing shaped his compassionate spirit and deep commitment to service.
Tim attended high school in Sebring, Florida, where he distinguished himself as a state wrestling champion—an early indication of the determination and discipline that would define his life. It was during his time at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, that he met the love of his life, Sandy. Their love story blossomed when Tim, a senior, dedicated an extra semester to be with his freshman love, laying the foundation for a partnership that would flourish for decades.
Dr. Annis graduated from Life Chiropractic College in 1989 and established a thriving practice in Dawsonville, Georgia, where he served his community with unparalleled dedication from 1991 until 2024. His commitment to his patients earned him the "Best of Dawson" award for many years, a testament to the love and respect he garnered from multiple generations of local families. Tim not only provided exceptional chiropractic care but also took the time to educate children about the importance of health and wellness. His passion for animals was evident as he generously offered adjustments to pets and wildlife, showcasing his belief in healing beyond human patients.
A man of deep faith and community spirit, Tim actively supported local families, schools, and soldiers abroad through various charitable initiatives. His employees and patients admired him not only for his professional expertise but also for his kindness, integrity and listening ear which created a welcoming and nurturing environment in his practice.
Tim is predeceased by his parents and brother Ray and is survived by his brothers James and David, and sister Lisa. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his wife, Sandy, and their six children: Daniel, Lauren, Callie, Tessa, Alex, and Carson. Tim was a devoted father, adjusting each of his children from the moment they were born, striving to be a model husband and father. The arrival of his three grandchildren brought immense joy and light to his life, offering him strength during his recoveries following his two strokes.
Fitness and health were paramount to Tim. He was an avid CrossFit enthusiast, often seen working out in the garage gym he created to maintain his physical fitness and set an example for his family and patients. This resilience and commitment to self-care served him well, particularly during his rehabilitation.
Tim loved to explore the great outdoors, hiking and traveling with his family, creating cherished memories that will forever echo in their hearts.
The community of Dawsonville has lost a remarkable doctor and friend, but the legacy of Dr. Timothy Annis will live on in the countless lives he touched. His family feels immensely blessed to have had him in their lives—a loving husband, an inspiring father, and a compassionate healer. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the beautiful memories and the profound impact he made on so many. Rest in peace, Tim. Your spirit will forever be a guiding light in our lives.
