Ms. Karen Denise LeCroy “Nanny”, age 62 of Hillside Drive, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at New Horizons Habersham in Demorest, Georgia.

A daughter of Gwendolyn Ansley LeCroy and the late James Willie LeCroy, she was born January 11, 1962 in Stephens County, Georgia where she had lived all her life.  She was a homemaker and was “Nanny” to everyone.  She loved painting pictures and painting on rocks.  She was of the Baptist faith.  She was preceded in death by her father and by her dog, Zoey of 13 years.

Survivors include her mother, Gwendolyn LeCroy of Toccoa; daughters, Crystal Thurmond of Toccoa and Angela Thurmond of Lilburn; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Alan Yearwood of Toccoa; grandchildren, Kane Sadler, Isaiah “Kelton” (Destiny) Thurmond, Aaliyah Thurmond, MeKale Thurmond, Kendric Insaidoo, Darrian Insaidoo, Zayden Insaidoo, Alyssa Johnson and Alanna Johnson; great-grandchildren, Gracelynn Johnson, Aziah Colbert, Ky’rell Scruggs and Gio Thurmond.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 5, 2025, 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Dr. Tommy Childress and Mr. Kane Sadler officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, MeKale Thurmond, Kane Sadler, Kelton Thurmond, Kendric Insaidoo, Darrian Insaidoo and Roger Wilbanks.  

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, 12 noon until the service time at 2 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the wonderful staff at Northeast Georgia Hospital Habersham and New Horizons Habersham for the care extended to their loved one.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Ms. Karen Denise LeCroy.
