Ethel C. Samples

Ethel C. Samples, 77, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Born January 15, 1947 in Lumpkin County to the late Howard and Edith Reeves, she lived most of her life in Forsyth and Dawson Counties.  A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed at The Gourmet Bird after which she worked with her sisters at Burt’s Pumpkin Farm for several years.  She enjoyed watching her children play ball, fishing, and working with her flowers.  A member of Liberty Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry H. Samples; granddaughter, Cheyanne Seabolt; sisters, Marie Beck, Margaret Payne; and brothers, David Reeves and Ernest Reeves.

Surviving are her children, Stacey Evans, Steve Samples, both of Dawsonville; grandson, Will Linkenhoker, Pickens, SC; great grandchildren, Markus Crowder, Jimi Mann, Addalynn Linkenhoker; sisters and brothers in law, Meretta and Dean Thompson, Dawsonville, Glenda and David Collins, Flowery Branch, Kathy and Johnny Burt, Dawsonville; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Russell Burt and Rev. Cory Gilleland will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
