Wynona Nelson

Ms. Wynona Nelson, age 88, of Cleveland, passed away on December 31, 2024.

Wynona was born on October 25, 1936, to the late Phelix and Stella Stockton.  She was a homemaker and a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Wynona was preceded in death by her husband Paul Nelson; and her siblings, Roberta Baker, Monroe Stockton, Ruth Gibson, Annetta Stockton, and Lorita Phillips.

Wynona was an avid gardener and loved taking care of her house plants.  She loved cooking for others and most of all she loved her Lord and Savior.  She enjoyed watching her tv preachers, listening to gospel music, and reading her Bible.  Wynona was definitely the one to call if you needed prayer.  She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Underwood; nieces, Tammy Brown, Ann Tollison, Jan Loftis, and Darlene Barrett; nephews, Butch Gibson and Aaron Underwood; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Junior Crane and Flo Caudell.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Center Grove Baptist Church.  The Rev. Spencer Anderson and the Rev. Aaron Underwood will officiate.  Interment will follow in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 – 2:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
