Victor Lee Goodwin

Victor Lee Goodwin, 63, of Gainesville, Georgia, gained his awaited entrance into heaven on Friday, December 27, 2024. 

Born on September 8, 1961, he was the eldest son of the late Gene and Anne Goodwin of Lineville, Alabama. 

In addition to his parents, Vic was preceded in death by his brother Mark Goodwin of Newnan, GA.  

Vic is survived by his sister Penelope (Peni) Goodwin Durham; his sister-in-law Beth Goodwin; his niece Emily (Goodwin) Patterson and her husband Thomas Patterson; his nephews Dru Durham, Dustin Durham, and Daniel Goodwin; his great-nephews, Wyatt and Wesley Patterson.

If you were lucky enough to meet Vic, you knew him for who he was. Vic was an avid Christian, wearing that armor proudly.  He was a charter member of Cliftondale United Methodist Church, later joining North Metro Baptist Church and Lakeland Baptist Church. He felt his purpose in life was to help lead others to Christ, and he has now joined those very souls.  

Victor was raised in Cliftondale, Georgia, attending Westwood High School. After graduation, he joined the Navy, serving tours in the Mediterranean for three years. Victor served his country proudly and admired all others who have done the same. 

He attended Clayton Junior College, later obtaining employment as a press operator. Victor worked with multiple companies, with the majority of his career being with Vernon Library Supplies in Duluth, Georgia.

Vic’s passion were friends, football, and food. He was the biggest fan of both Green Bay Packers and the Georgia Bulldogs, cheering them on as if he were the coach.  Victor also enjoyed spending time at the beach, where he felt a closeness with God.  

Victor has left his heart with many people; He would want everyone he knew to pass it on.  

There will be a celebration of life memorial service on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Lakeland Baptist Church, Buford, Georgia. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 PM, with the service at 2:00 PM, Pastor Brian Rhodes officiating.
