Surrounded by his family, Kenneth Lawrence Weatherford of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on December 26, 2024. Born on October 24, 1940, in Monroe, Georgia, to Addie and Perry Weatherford, Ken was a graduate of Monroe Area Comprehensive High School. A dedicated entrepreneur, Ken and his wife, Betty, owned and operated Weatherford’s Office Supplies, Printing, and Gifts in downtown Lawrenceville for 46 years. Even after retiring, he continued to take on small printing jobs for his most loyal customers.
Ken was deeply involved in church, serving in numerous roles and cherishing his time as President of the National Methodist Men. He stayed active well into his later years. Until a brief illness in December, he enjoyed working as a security guard at Mitsubishi, where he enjoyed many friendships and meaningful connections.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Whitney Weatherford, and his brother, Gary Weatherford. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty Weatherford; his daughter, Ansley Keiser (Kennon); his six grandchildren, Addie and Emma Weatherford, Mary Katherine Timbers (Joseph), Dr. K. Howell Jr. (Leah), Parks, and Griffin Keiser; and his three great-grandchildren, Charlotte, JP, and Henry Timbers.
Per his wishes, the family will hold a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or to Hartwell First Methodist Church in Hartwell, Georgia.
