Brenda Goodson Phillips Clark

Brenda Goodson Phillips Clark of Gainesville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Brenda was born on May 7, 1941 at St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1959 and attended Georgia State University. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Goodson, and her mother, Ione Allen Goodson.

Brenda was married to her first husband, Gerald Phillips, for 41 years, until his death in 2001.Her career included administrative work for the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, and administrative work for the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance. In 2004 Brenda married her childhood friend, Hugh Oliver Clark III, and they were together for 20 years.

In addition to her husband Hugh Clark, Brenda is survived by her daughter, Carla Sue West and son-in-law Michael West, her daughter, Connie Lynn Phillips, and her granddaughter, Gina Marie Ferguson.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, GA 30504. 

The Funeral will be held On Saturday, January 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church at 3612 Old Oakwood Road, Oakwood, GA 30566, and will be followed by a processional to Memorial Park Cemetery for interment. Pastor Andy Siebert will be officiating.
