Myrtle Chadwick Barrett

Myrtle Chadwick Barrett, was born on June 13, 1941 in Lawrenceville, GA to Dewey and Clara Belle Chadwick. She was born again on February 5, 1978 at Glover Baptist Church in Norcross, GA, and she passed away at the age of 83 on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Mrs. Barrett finished Lilburn High School with honors in 1959. She then went to work for John Deere Company in Doraville, GA. After leaving John Deere, she went to work for the IRS where she remained for thirty-eight years. In all of life’s challenges she excelled.

Myrtle married Edward Barrett of Norcross on December 20, 1963. She became a mother of two children: a daughter, Kristen Lanae and a son, Clinton Edward.

Preceding her in death was her beloved daughter Kristen; her parents; and brothers, Troy Thomas Chadwick and James William Chadwick. Myrtle is survived by her children, Clinton and Amy Barrett of Buford; granddaughter, Marissa Benevento of Hoschton, GA; brother, Claude Ray (Elaine) Chadwick of Loganville, GA; sisters, Doris Evelyn (Larry) Harrison of Lilburn, GA, Delores Marie Chadwick of Loganville; sisters-in-law, Martha Chadwick of Cumming, GA and Carole Elizabeth (Dale) Harris; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Williams and Mr. Edward Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
