Randolph "Dewayne" Payne

Obituary Date: Tuesday, December 24, 2024

Randolph “Dewayne” Payne, 60, of White County, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 from a sudden illness.

Born on February 28, 1964 in Dahlonega, he was the son of Annie Sullens Parks and the late Ralph Payne. Dewayne lived most of his life in Hall County and was a 1982 graduate of North Hall High School. He owned and operated Payne’s Drywall until retirement. He pastored A New Walk Church and Recovery Ministry in Gainesville for several years where he helped lead many people to Christ.

Dewayne loved to help people through outreach programs such as food banks and homeless shelters. Dewayne will be remembered by his contagious laugh, crazy stories, loving hugs and BBQ plates.

Dewayne was preceded in death by his fathers, Ralph Payne and Jack Parks; sister, Jackie (John) Brady; grandparents, Charlie and Adel Sullens and special niece, Ashley Brady.

Dewayne is survived by his mother, Annie Parks of Dahlonega; sister, Renae (Vic) Mills of Dahlonega; uncle, Stanley (Marisa) Sullens of Johnson Co; great nieces, Savannah Brady and Alice Wynn of Cumming; ex-wife, Jan Payne and family; friend and caregiver, Vickie Foster; best friend, Tony Elrod and other loving friends and relatives.
