Delores Wilson Tucker

Mrs. Delores Wilson Tucker, 80 of Gillsville died December 19, 2024, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center-Gainesvile. 

Daughter of Herbert Hoover Wilson and Betty Jo Mosley Wilson born in Amarillo, Texas December 10, 1944, Died December 19, 2024. Married Daniel R. Hill on September 5th, 1964-1996 surviving him to marry John P. Tucker on July 3, 1998-2023.

She is survived by four children:

Deangela S. Hill Chastain M. Patrick Chastain, Daniel S Hill M. Karen Hill, David S. Hill M. Tina Hill, and Redmond T. Hill IV M. Lacey Hill

17 Grandchildren: Nathan Chastain, Jordan Chastain, Colin Hill, Catherine Jackson, Kendall Durkee, Aaron Chastain, Roland Chastain, Daniel Hill, Miriam Chastain, Zollie Pruitt, Dylan Hill, Olivia Hill, Asa Chastain, Jubilee Chastain, Vivian Hill, Amanda Hill, and Caleb Hill and 10 great-grandchildren with two more due in 2025. 

Delores served faithfully as a missionary in the Southern Baptist Convention with the International Mission Board for 22 years returning to India for an additional 2 years in 2003-4.

She worked in Bangladesh from 1974-1978, and then in Thailand from 1979-1996. She served with her husband Danny on the Thai Cambodian border in the refugee camps and in Bangkok planting churches.

She completed her Masters in Anthropology at Georgia State University and worked in North Georgia as a counselor for a number of years. She loved serving others and being surrounded by her family. She was an amazing woman who will be missed by all who loved her.

Graveside services will be held Friday December 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Mableton, Georgia.
