Randall K. "Randy" Jewart, age 77, of Clarkesville, Georgia formerly of Dayton, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Mr. Jewart was born on October 12, 1947 at home in Dayton, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Freda Carson Jewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Donnie Elder
Randy was a loving husband to Kathy, his wife of 52 years. Their life together was one of adventure and growth, with moves to New York, Ohio, and Georgia as Kathy’s career took them to new opportunities. Randy embraced each new community wholeheartedly, always making their house a warm and welcoming home. Randy was the proud father of his two daughters, Carolyn and Courtney whose lives he enriched with his unwavering love, support, and involvement. Whether helping with PTA events, assisting with school bake sales, or cheering them on from the sidelines, Randy cherished every moment of fatherhood. Randy was a former elder at Grace Presbyterian Church in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, and later a member of Clarkesville First Methodist Church in Georgia. Professionally, Randy spent his career as a salesman, holding various positions with different companies. Following retirement he worked part-time at Troup's Hallmark Store in Toccoa. For 17 years, Randy greeted customers with a friendly smile and a kind word, becoming a beloved friend to many of the customers. Later in life, Randy was blessed with the title of "PaPa" to four wonderful grandchildren, whom he adored. His face lit up when he spoke of them, and he relished every opportunity to spoil them, tell stories, and share in their accomplishments. He was an active member of several organizations, including the Lions Club in Kittanning, the Elks Lodge of Toccoa, he was a Life-Time Member of the Eagles and a Board Member of the Cornelia Library. Randy became a Master Mason on March 12, 1969 at Winston Masonic Lodge #522 in New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he was active for many years. Following his move to Georgia, he became a member of Cornelia Lodge #92 F&AM in September of 2009, where he remained active and has served as Worshipful Master and was also Ambassador to the Georgia Masonic Children's Home. Randy also found great joy in hobbies like golfing, cooking, and baking. Above all, Randy treasured his family. In addition to being a wonderful husband, father and Papa, he was a devoted brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. Randy will also be remember as a beloved friend to everyone he knew, as he was blessed with many friendships in his life.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Kathy Schaeffer Jewart, of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jake Misencik, of Warner Robins; daughter, Courtney Jewart, of Stow, OH; grandchildren, Seth Randall Jewart, of Stow, OH; Carson Misencik, Avery Misencik, and Trent Misencik, all of Warner Robins; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Barbara Jewart, of Curwensville, PA; sister, Coleen Elder, of Dayton, PA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2024 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Phil Demore officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2024 at the funeral home prior to the service.
A Memorial Service will also be held in Pennsylvania and Ohio at later dates that will be announced.
