Ethel Jeanette Major, 86, San Diego, CA originally from Gainesville, GA, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, December 13, 2024. She was a lifelong resident of the Murrayville/Gainesville, Georgia area until she moved to San Diego to be near her son in 2014. She was a spunky 4’ 11” bundle of joy. The lives she has touched on her journey through life is immeasurable. Her greatest joy in life was getting and sending cards, Birthdays and Christmas were her favorites and she would voice her opinion if there wasn’t one in the mailbox. She loved people more than anyone and never met a stranger. Walking with her friends and neighbors kept her going and the ones that she met on the journey enhanced her life. Her hobbies included crocheting, watching the traffic go by and the planes going overhead from her 15th-floor balcony and people watching. She loved music and singing, enjoyed going to plays and musicals, getting her hair done, going for drives, and talking on the phone to catch up with friends. Jeanette was very proud of her three children and told others so much about them they felt like they knew them and would ask her how they were doing. She is survived by her children Kathy (John) Fields, Westport IN, Keith Robinson (John Williamson) San Diego, CA, Kevin Robinson, Dawsonville, GA. Grandchildren, Lark, Lindsay, Wyatt, and Cristin. Great-grandchildren Jess, Asher, Sarai, Uziah, Gideon and Eliorah, and two great-great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her precious husband John and her much-loved grandson Shane. Per her wishes, she will be cremated. Her family will have celebrations of life after the holidays, in San Diego, CA, and Gainesville, GA. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Diabetes Association in her name.
