David Anthony Harkins

Mr. David Anthony Harkins, age 63 of Chestnut Mountain, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Brian Hall, Rev. Phillip Ransom and Dave Harkins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Harkins was born June 18, 1961 to the late Ben & Sarah Corine Harkins in Gainesville.  A faithful member of Chestnut Mountain Church, he was retired from Simpson Brick Sales.  He loved God, family, his Church families and his hobbies of chickens and old cars.  He also loved to fish and music, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Mr. Harkins is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Sandy Harkins; son, Dave (Carly) Harkins; daughter, Jessica (Donnie) Lilly; grandchildren, Ila Grace Harkins, Jed David Harkins; and Shyann Lilly; brothers, Larry & Nancy Harkins, Ronnie & Margaret Harkins and Phillip & Sheilia Harkins; sister-in-law, Dana McClure; and a host of nephews, nieces & cousins.  He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters-in-law, Bennie, Jr. & Deborah Harkins and Freddie & Mary Jane Harkins; and father-in-law & mother-in-law, Dan & Lynda Allison.
