Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Julie Cordova Marlow, age 91 , of Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Mrs. Marlow was born in Aguilar, Colorado, one of seventeen children to the late Jospeh Delfin Cordova and the late Jennie Odelia Apodaca Cordova. Mrs. Marlow earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science. She was a teacher, librarian and author. She retired from the University of North Georgia, and was a member of the Holly Springs Methodist Church. She loved God with all her heart, and felt it was her mission to tell others about Jesus. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marlow was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Dixon Marlow, Sr., and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Marlow of Gainesville; son, Arthur Dixon Marlow II (Georgeanna) of Flowery Branch; six siblings; her grandchildren, Meghan Garrett Rutledge (Brett), Ethan Michael Garrett (Sarah), Sarah Grace Marlow, Arthur Dixon “Jack” Marlow III; great grandchildren, Ronan Rutledge and Asher Rutledge also survive.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, GA.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Holly Springs Methodist Church with the body to lie in state in the Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Pastor Johnny Ray, Pastor Ray Gibbs and Pastor Jeff Worley will officiate with the burial will follow in the Holly Springs Methodist Church Cemetery. Gentleman honored as pallbearers are Jack Marlow, Maco Parks, Dennis Marlow, Keith Iseley, Shane Guined and Thom Dugas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holly Springs Methodist Church at 7441 Holly Springs Road, Pendergrass, Georgia 30547.
