Betty Marie Duncan

Betty Marie Duncan, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Born March 8, 1939 in Duluth, Georgia to the late Hoyt and Nora Davis, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 2 years having moved from Cumming.  Betty retired as an accountant with Fulton Federal Bank following 30 years of service.  She was loving, kind, and was known to be a peacemaker.  Collecting antique glassware was a passion for her.  A member of Concord Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Duncan; daughters, Kathy Duncan, Gail Roach; and brothers, Gene Davis and Harold Davis.

Surviving are her children, James and Araceli Roach, Tony Roach, Robin and Mark Fitzpatrick, Pamela Barfield, John C., Jr. and Jessica Duncan; 15 grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; sisters, JoAnn Studdard, Carol Rickles, Jackie Bain; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 2 o’clock at Concord Baptist Church.  The remains will be placed in state at 1 o’clock.  Dr. Scott Gilbert will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
