Phyllis Marie Kennedy

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Phyllis Marie Kennedy, age 86, of Commerce, Georgia who entered rest Thursday, December 5, 2024. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Holtville, California the daughter of the late Jefferson Davis Brown and the late Laura Virgillia Beard Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Kennedy and a sister, Virginia O’Leary.

Mrs. Kennedy was a homemaker and a member of River Oak Grace, Oakdale, CA. She was an avid golfer, loved to travel, play cards and dance. She found joy in making friends, spending time with her girls and laughing with her great grandkids.

Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Fannell (Jeff) of Raleigh, NC, Shelly Costa of Oakdale, CA and Holly Hempton (Preston) of Commerce, GA. Four grandchildren, Nikki Stroh (Josh) of Reedsport, OR, Caleb Hempton of Commerce, GA, Emily Hempton of Commerce, GA and Rebecca Spanggaard (Thomas) of Denmark. Five great grandchildren also survive.

In accordance with Mrs. Kennedy’s wishes, she will be cremated and services will be held at a later date in California.
