Joleen was a true "steel magnolia", having the charm as a former college beauty queen and the quiet strength, resilience, and independence of a southern matriarch. She enjoyed sewing, golf, travel, fishing, boating, gardening, reading (especially her Bible), and healthy home-cooked meals from scratch. She graduated from the University of Georgia, was a life-long learner, and taught elementary school for many years before moving to the Florida Keys and Bahamas to raise her family.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm. Memorial services will be on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 3 pm. Visitation and service will be at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, 2068 Hwy 19 BUS, Dahlonega, Ga 30533, (706) 864-4159.
A private graveside service will be held in Douglas, Georgia, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
