Johnny Magwood Sheridan, Sr.

Mr. Johnny Magwood Sheridan, Sr., age 83 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery.  Reverend Lamar Purcell will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm, at the funeral home.

            Mr. Sheridan was born May 23, 1941 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Thomas Sheridan and Bertice Bradley Sheridan.  He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway as an Engineer for 44 years and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.  Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Johnny Sheridan Jr., his sisters, Sarah Stevens and Shirley Henry, his brother, Thomas Sheridan and his grandsons, Johnny (Jay) Sheridan III and Brannon Scott Sheridan.

            Mr. Sheridan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Christine Woodall Sheridan of Gainesville, his son & daughter-in-law, Bradley Scott & Tracy Sheridan of Gainesville, his grandson, Hayden Sheridan of Gainesville, his great-grandchildren, Kylee Sheridan, Trevor Sheridan and Paisley Sheridan and his daughter-in-law, Lesa Sheridan of Flowery Branch.
