Ralph Watson Souther

Mr. Ralph Watson Souther, 84, of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Ronald Seabolt, Rev. Danny Hart and Rev. Steve Baker will officiate.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Friday, December 6, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on August 29, 1940 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Thomas Watson Souther and the late Willie Mae McIntyre Souther. Mr. Souther was a proud Veteran serving his country in the United States Army. He retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked in sorting. Mr. Souther was a member of Eastview Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Souther was preceded in death by his in laws, Pauline and Hoyt Hudgins and brothers in law, Hoyt Edge and Roger Allen.

Mr. Souther is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois Ann Hudgins Souther of Gainesville; sons and daughters in law, Scotty and Betty Ann Souther of Hoschton, Brian and Sonya Souther of Cleveland; grandsons, Joshua Souther of Gainesville, Bo Souther of Cleveland; step grandchildren, Matthew Cantrell and Eric Landress of Maysville, Emily and Doug Evans of Gainesville; sisters, Carolyn Allen of Gainesville, Delores “Candy” Edge of Gainesville; sister and brother in law, Frances and Ronnie Spain of Cleveland and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
