Bennie Mae Pierce Brantley

Obituary Date: Friday, November 29, 2024

Mrs. Bennie Mae Pierce Brantley, age 92, of Gainesville, Georgia, joined the Lord on Friday, November 29, 2024 at her home in Madison, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Springway Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at the church as well at 2:00 pm December 5, 2024 at Springway Baptist Church with interment to be in the church cemetery.

Bennie was born on November 28, 1932 in Gainesville, Georgia. She was the 2nd child of 9 born to the late Edd Thomas Pierce and Martha Irene Porter Pierce. She grew up in a modest country home on Pierce Road, land given to her daddy by his father, John Wesley Pierce, her mother was a homemaker. She was saved and baptized at 13 at Springway Baptist Church.

Growing up in Gainesville, she graduated from Air Line High School and in 1952 she graduated from Perry Business College and then continued her education at Georgia State College in 1957.

In 1953 she worked at Moline Tractor Company in Chamblee, Georgia, where she met her first husband, Harry Eugene Brantley, Jr., who passed away in 1968. They were married August 20, 1955 and had 2 children, Nina and Harry, III. In 1982 she married, the late, Lewis Bryant and during that time she also opened Bennie Bryant Antiques. She retired from Bellsouth which became AT&T in 1985 with 25 years of service in Engineering. Her last written words to her children and family was to “Never let Jesus go from your hearts”.

Along with her parents and both husband’s, Bennie was preceded in death by her sister, Sara Beth; brother, John; sisters, Frances, Susie and Cherry.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Nina Renee Grimes and Robert (Bob); son and daughter –in-law, Harry Eugene Brantley, III and Tammy; grandchildren, Kristina Holmes, Tiffany Grimes, Clint Brantley, Cody Brantley and Cassidy Claxton; great-grandchildren, Thomas Robert Holmes, Alayna Brantley, Holly Brantley, Luna Brantley and Evie Claxton;

Bennie always loved her fancy clothes and jewelry and driving her Cadillac. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would do anything she could for them.

Flowers are welcome or for those who desire donations may be made to Springway Baptist Church, 2743 Old Cornelia Highway, Gainesville, GA 30507.
