Mr. Dorris Charles "DC" Stringer

Mr. Dorris Charles “DC” Stringer, age 102 of Jefferson, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at his home, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 29, 2024 at Memorial Park South Chapel with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Eric Buffington will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. 

Mr. Stringer was born August 1, 1922 to the late Lawrence & Geraldine Stokes Stringer in Lyle, Tennessee. He resided at the Walden Cove Personal Care Home in Jefferson, Georgia. DC loved his family, the Lord, and never gave up on anyone. The guiding principles behind a happy and long life.  

He is survived by his daughters, Diane (Ed) Knopick, Donna (Mike) Bennett, Debbie (Larry) Salsman, & Marty (Denis) Gaddy; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie (Judy) Stringer’ and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Sara Virginia Stringer; and son, Billy Stringer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walden’s Cove Personal Care Home, 1442 Johnson Mill Rd, Jefferson, GA 30549.
