Jerry Clarence Nix

Mr. Jerry Clarence Nix, 73, of Franklin, NC, (formerly of Gainesville), passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Hunt and Rev. Earl Pirkle will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on November 13, 1951 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Clarence Edward and Hortense Truelove Nix. He was retired from Gainesville Truck Center where he was a truck driver. Mr. Nix was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Smith Nix; son, David John Nix and sister, Joan Elaine Nix.

Mr. Nix is survived by his daughter and son in law, Tina and Saurabh Maniar of Millsboro, DE; daughter, Tracie Smith of Winder; brothers, Johnny Nix, Roy Nix of Gainesville; sister, Jackie Anderson (Gerald) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Ciera Nix, Josh Smith (Desirae Boggus), Derick Trejo(Kaylee), Tiera Smith (Phillip Essick), Daniel Nix, Blake Nix, Austin Nix; McKenzie Nix; great-grandchildren, Courtney Smith, Hunter Boggus, Brooklyn Boggus, Eden Nix, Hayzlee Trejo, James Essick, Javen Mason, Bentlee Stephens and a number of other loving relatives.
