On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Clara Camp Beatenbough left her earthly home in Gainesville, GA and is now reunited with her husband of 70 years, Charles M. Beatenbough, Sr. Both Georgia natives, Clara and Charles married in July, 1950 and began their life together in the suburbs of Atlanta. Following his graduation from Georgia Tech in 1953, Charles began a career that necessitated moving the family to North Carolina. Over the following years, Clara faithfully accompanied her husband through more than a dozen moves to multiple states, to Milan, Italy, and to the South Pacific.
Clara was the mother of four children and the devoted, much-loved Mamie to 17 grandchildren, more than 40 great-grands, and 1 (so far) great-great. Always a proud patriot. Clara was determined, at the age of 92, to make it to the polls to cast her vote in the recent election, and she was happy to wear the sticker affirming she had done so.. She was an amazing cook, an artist, an accomplished seamstress and quilter, and even earned a brown belt as a karate student. Clara took turns as a scout leader, a booster club volunteer, a Bible school teacher, and youth group sponsor, always an active participant in the lives of her children and grands. She loved the Lord, and raised her family to know Him. and it is a joy to know that she is now face to face with Him. She will be missed by many.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday November 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.
