Andrew Charles Gbur died suddenly on November 9, 2024. Andy was born and grew up on the South Side of Chicago on August 18, 1954, to parents Olga and Andrew Gbur. He graduated from Fenger High School and worked for Allis Chalmers, owned his own seal coating business, and later worked as a union carpenter in the trade show industry. He thrived in that profession and became a crew leader, traveling all over the country. He and his wife Bev, moved to Georgia in 2002 enjoying the ability to golf and play outdoor sports several more months of the year. Upon retirement, Andy spent every chance he could playing golf with his friends in the Men’s Senior Golf League. He loved his family, his friends, and their dogs.
He is survived by his beloved wife Bev (Wendel) Gbur, his son Lou (Brooke) Gbur, his daughter Abbey (Jordan) Heath, granddaughter Lillie Gbur, brother Garry (Barbara) Gbur, sisters-in-law Susan Wendel, Pam Lovette, and Anita Gbur, brothers-in-law Mike (Becky) Wendel, Joe (Tracy) Wendel, and Andy (Maria) Wendel. He was loved by 24 nieces and nephews and 33 great-nieces and nephews.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Al Wendel, mother-in-law Janet Wendel, his brothers Michael (Susan) Gbur, Myron (Harriet) Gbur, and Gregory Gbur.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Gbur was cremated, and a private memorial service will be held on a later date.
