Linda Nell Burroughs

Linda Nell Burroughs, a cherished member of her family and community, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2024 in Commerce, Georgia. Born on October 22, 1946, in Madison County, Linda was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and a loyal friend. She carried these titles with grace, but her proudest role was undoubtedly that of a grandmother.

A dedicated secretary, Linda excelled in her career and was known for her unwavering work ethic. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1964 and remained active in her community through various interests and hobbies. As a member of the Red Hat Club, Linda enjoyed celebrating friendship and life with her fellow members. Her faith played a central role in her life; she was a devoted member of Nicholson Baptist Church and a beloved Christian who deeply loved the Lord.

Linda had a passion for music, enjoying Southern Gospel, Golden Oldies, and the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley. Her vibrant spirit and love for life touched many, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Lee Burroughs; her daughter, Frankie (Timothy) Fouche; her granddaughter, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Taylor; her grandson, Christopher (Virginia) Fouche; as well as her great-grandchildren, Landon Taylor, Brealan Taylor, Abigail Fouche, and Katherine Fouche.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert C. and Sara Fields Carithers.

A visitation will be held on November 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529. The funeral service will take place on November 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Nicholson Baptist Church, concluding with a gathering of family and friends to honor her remarkable life at Howington Cemetery.

Linda Nell Burroughs will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
