Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Timothy Grant Wallace, age 62 of Winder, Georgia who entered rest Sunday, November 10, 2024. Mr. Wallace was born in Winder, Georgia He was the son of the late G.W. Wallace and the late Miriam Lyle Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a member of Bethlehem Church and was a retired Captain with the City of Winder Fire Department.
Tim was a devoted husband to his wife Kathy, who was the love of his life for 42 years. He had 3 beautiful children and 5 grandchildren who were his world. His lifelong dream was to become a firefighter, and at age 18 his dream came true as he became a volunteer with the Bethlehem fire department and gained his nickname of Tack-Hammer. He worked at Athens-Clarke County fire department from 1982-1995 before joining the City of Winder fire department full time in November of 1995 and worked with the department until his retirement in 2019. He owned his own business, MasterCraft Signs where he made numerous signs for the community. He was a member of the Boy Scouts where he earned the highest ranking. He loved to be hands on, always building and making things for family and friends. Upon his retirement he spent lots of time with his family and spoiling his grandkids. He loved country music, the Eagles, Georgia football, being a handy man and firefighting . He was the Jack of all trades! Above all, he will always be remembered for his kind heart, positive spirit and unconditional love for his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wallace is preceded by his sister, Barbara Shedd and brother in law Butch Pannell.
Survivors include his wife Kathy Crowe Wallace of Winder; Children, Brianna Boone and Brandon of Jefferson, Ben Wallace and Carolyn of Athens, Lindsey Williams and Chaz of Bethlehem; Grandchildren, Charleigh and Chandleigh Boone, Emmalyn Wallace, Cheston and Renington Williams; Sister, Linda Pannell of Charleston, SC; Brother in law, Clifton Shedd of Winder; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 15, 2024 from the Bethlehem Church with Reverend Brian Cavoretto officiating with burial to follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 11:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Evans Funeral Home.
