Lillie "Mae" Miller, age 87, of Murrayville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024. Born on August 30, 1937, in Dahlonega, Georgia, Mae was the cherished daughter of the late Dewey Allen Garmon and the late Nellie Beatrice Rider Garmon. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Kemit Mincey, Lucille Sosebee, Gene Mincey, JD Mincey, JR Garmon, George Garmon, and Pauline Peck.
Mae is survived by her beloved husband, Guy Miller of Murrayville, and her sons David (Elaine) Black, Stephen Black, Nathan (Amy) Miller, and Kevin (Sherry) Miller. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Corey (Kayla) Black, Kyle Black, Steven (Jessica) Phillips, Tyler Miller, Kameron Miller, Alexis Miller, and Ashley Miller, as well as her siblings Bertie Mae Stephens and Nancy Sue Conner (John Henry). Mae was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
Mae loved tending to her flowers and working in her yard, finding peace and joy in nature’s beauty. However, her greatest love was for her family. Mae was a constant source of strength and support, the one everyone could depend on. Her dedication to helping others knew no bounds, and she was truly the heart of her family.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. David Bost will officiate, with interment following at St. Pauls United Methodist Church Cemetery in Dahlonega, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
