Mr. Andrews was born on July 19, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late George Raymond (Doc) and Eugenia Hough Andrews. Robert was a proud member of the law enforcement family. He served as a deputy sheriff in Forsyth County and later served as a deputy sheriff and investigator with the Dawson County Sheriff’s Department. He also owned a private security company.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was blessed to have enjoyed many hunting and fishing adventures with friends and family. He and his wife Donna also enjoyed traveling and riding Harleys with a special group of friends.
Robert was a beloved husband, father, “PoPo”, and friend. He will be missed by many.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, George Raymond Andrews, Jr.; sister, Sylvia Andrews Creasy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hugh and Margie Elrod.
Survivors include his wife and love of his life, Donna Elrod Andrews, Ball Ground; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and DeAnna Roberts, Cleveland; his precious granddaughters, Bailey Roberts and Emily Roberts, both of Cleveland.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 P.M. Monday, November 11, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Dr. Jim Gaines will officiate. Entombment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the church, prior to the funeral service.
