Teresa Kay Hubbard Partain was born April 11, 1962, at Albertville - Boaz Hospital in Alabama to the late Frank and Goldie (Brown) Hubbard. She was raised in Collinsville, AL and lived there until her father’s passing. Teresa’s eldest sister Brenda lived in Dallas, GA with her husband at that time. With her mother and sister Tina, they moved to nearby Marietta, GA where she graduated from Marietta High School.
Teresa met her husband Cris during their time at Southern Polytechnic State University. Her time in college was also spent forming lifelong friendships with her Alpha Delta Pi sorority sisters. She graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and was married the same year. Her first job after graduating was as a staff engineer with Law Engineering. She then went on to work for Prestige Mortgage and BB&T. She continued her career by working with Met Life and Mass Mutual as a financial advisor. She started several companies including Telco Associates, Crux LLC, and Noble Wealth Management. Teresa also served on philanthropic boards, including the Brain Injury Association of Georgia and started the Echo Point Foundation.
Although she worked in insurance and financial management for much of her life, she will be remembered most as a devoted and loving mother, wonderful wife and true friend. Teresa was blessed with many talents. She was a very accomplished gardener. You could tell it as soon as you entered her driveway that she had a special way of knowing what plants needed special attention to thrive. Teresa similarly had the same skill with people. She could turn around a day with her vibrant and constant smile, or a life by listening and cooking a meal. She loved waterskiing, reading, traveling, decorating, hosting parties and spending time with family and friends. Teresa always had a positive view on life and never had a mean word to say about anyone and would help anyone in need with a bright smile on her face.
She is survived by her husband, Cris Partain, their two children – Patrick Partain and Sydney Partain Connaughton. Patrick is married to Ashley, with a son William. Sydney and her husband, Sean are expecting a son in March 2025. Teresa is also survived by her sisters Brenda Blevens (d. Perry) and Tina Bennett (Doug), nieces and nephews (Zachary (Crystal), Ethan (Kelli), Julie (Richard), Eric (Whitney), Craig, Karen and John (d. Crystilyn), Jonathon, Becky (Tim), Wanda, d. Tina (Raymond), great-nieces and great-nephews (Jack, Hannah, Amelia, Charlotte, Sawyer, Carter, Madelyn, Eleanor, Emma, Lincoln, McKenzie, Aurora, Orion, Phoenix, Timothy, Tara, Josh, Christopher, Amber, Brittany, Eric, Alicia) and several cousins.
