Joyce “Nochie” Davis Peyton, age 82 of Monroe, Georgia formerly of Alto, Georgia (Banks County) went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 05, 2024.
Born in Lula, Georgia on December 09, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Coy & Meldrid Meeks Davis. Joyce was a graduate of Banks County High School, Class of 1958. She worked for many years with Fieldale Farms Corporation before retirement. In her spare time, Joyce was a hardworker, enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden, listening to music, dancing, and was a wonderful cook who was well known for her sweet potato pies as well as other goodies. She loved her family tremendously and exemplified her role as a loving wife and doting Nanny to her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Bruce Peyton; brothers, Jerome Davis, Jeff Davis, & Dan Davis; sister, Robbin Chitwood; son-in-law, Stevie Caudell; & brother-in-law, Ed Garrison.
Survivors include her children; Regina Caudell, Marcia & Burnie Walker, Gwen Whitehead, & Sherry Tara; brothers & sisters-in-law, Phil & Glenda Davis, Dwayne & Melissa Davis; sisters, Mazell Garrison & Melody Wilson; brother-in-law, Doug Chitwood; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 08, 2024 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 07, 2024.
