Jay Ferguson

Jay Ferguson, age 90 of Helen, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. Ferguson was born in Hiawassee, GA to the late Andrew J. Ferguson and Rhodia Barrett Ferguson. Jay was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service. After retirement he worked in construction and enjoyed rabbit hunting, deer hunting and fishing in his spare time. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Wallace “W.J.” Jay Ferguson and siblings, Wade Ferguson, Bud Ferguson, Henry Ferguson, Lorene Roberts and Flora Ferguson. 

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Beulah Mae Ferguson; daughter, Calista Bryson and fiancé, Rev. Ted Armour; son, Jed Ferguson and fiancé, Angie Huff; grandchildren, Graylon and Tamara Bryson, Alexandrea Ferguson, Bethany Stone; great grandsons, Wesson Bryson, Ben Rylee; brother, Felton Ferguson and sister, Loretta Cantrell; sister-in-law, Louise Dorsey; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Helen Robertstown Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
