David W. “Dumas” Jenkins, 64, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Born March 8, 1960, David spent most of his life in Dawson County and had been a resident of Dahlonega for the past 10 years. He spent his career building houses with B and H Construction alongside some of his very best friends. A hard working man, he loved music, his wife’s cooking, fishing, dancing and spending time with his grandchildren. David was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who was always helping others in any way that he could. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Young; parents, Junior and Louise Jenkins; brother, Ricky Jenkins.
Surviving are his children, Keisha and Bo Frady of North Carolina, Amanda and Matt Patterson of Dawsonville, Justin Jenkins of Dawsonville, Nathan Patton of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Kyriana, Micah, Shaylen, Cade, Tatum, Dustin, Travis, Allie, Ashlyn, Ethan, Alyssa, Kaiya; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna and Bill Bennett, Danny and Edna Jenkins, Sherry and Eddy Waters, Lisa and Mike Waters, Steven and Lynn Jenkins, all of Dawsonville; other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Harris Borum and Rev. Barry Payne will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the hour of service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help offset final expenses.
