Mr. Raymond Wendell “Ray” Fassett, age 84 of Danielsville, Georgia and formerly of Toccoa passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
A son of the late Kenneth Fassett and Mildred Fleming Fassett, he was born June 20, 1940 in Graniteville, Vermont, having lived in Toccoa for 26 years before moving to Danielsville. He served his country in the Army National Guard. His hobbies included playing guitar, woodworking, working on cars and race cars, welding and driving trucks, and was a jack of all trades. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. While living in Toccoa, he attended Eastanollee Baptist Church. He loved sharing the Word of God to others and was involved in VBS at his church. He loved his family, his cats and especially his dog, Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lynda Villa Fassett; daughters, Deeann Fassett of Berlin, Vermont and Jan Fassett of Bethlehem, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Loren and Tanya Fassett of Hibbing, Minnesota; grandchildren, Brandon and Sara Fassett, Blaine Fassett, Nick DeForge, Paige and Jon Griffeth, Blake Fassett and Trey Dorminy; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 2, 2024, 1 p.m. at Eastanollee Baptist Church with The Reverend Ricky McFarlin officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and should assemble at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:00 p.m., Nick DeForge, Jon Griffeth, Blaine Fassett, Jamie Meyerholtz, Trey Dorminy, Blake Fassett and Brandon Fassett.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Eastanollee Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the Georgia National Guard Honor Guard.
