Betty Lou Welling Holland, 81, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born July 5, 1943 and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Betty had been a resident of Dawsonville for over 40 years. She spent her career with Panasonic and following retirement she went to work managing the Kangaroo convenient store in downtown Dawsonville where she had many friends. Betty’s true passion in life was training and traveling the country with thoroughbred racehorses. To know her was to love her and she will be remembered by all who knew her. Betty was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Charles Welling, parents, Louis and Mary Keller and brother, Joseph D. Keller.
Surviving are her children, David Welling of Dawsonville, John Welling of Canada, Mary-Lou Welling of Canada, Cindy Welling of Canada, Kelly and Ann Welling of Dawsonville, Michelle and Keith Young of Dawsonville; sister, Arlene Sutton of South Carolina; grandchildren, Sasha, Jeff, Miles, Amanda, Julia, Cassie, Cole, Taylor, Tucker, Bryan; 15 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tony Holtzclaw will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 30 from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
