Anne Baechle Dekle housewife and mother passed away peacefully at age 90 on October 21, 2024.
Anne was born in Columbus, Ohio, grew up in Cincinnati, and then moved to Palmetto, Florida in 1954. She was married for 45 years to the late Dr. George Edward Dekle a Palmetto dentist.
Anne was Altar Guild directress at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church for 15 years, served on the vestry and once on the search committee for a new rector. She was a founding member of the Community Thrift Shop in Bradenton and served as bookkeeper, then treasurer. Mrs. Dekle also served on the board of St. Stephens Episcopal School. Her son George “Deke” Dekle Jr. was the first person to graduate from the school (1975).
For the past 20 years Anne lived in Atlanta, GA (East Cobb) with extended winters in Bradenton, FL. She spent her last years in Gainesville, GA.
Anne leaves two great children, George E. Dekle Jr. (Paula) of Chicago, IL and Barbara Lauff (Fred) of Dawsonville, GA and two wonderful grandchildren, Cole and Reid Lauff.
