Shirley Moore

Shirley Moore, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Monday, October 21, 2024.

Born June 18, 1941 in Forsyth County to the late Robert E. and Voncile Lee, she had lived in Dawson County since 1986.  Shirley retired as a bus driver for special needs children with the Dawson County School System.  She enjoyed studying the Bible, working in her yard and flower gardens, and spending time with her family and friends.  A member of Concord Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy S. Moore.

Surviving are her daughter, Caroline Gaddis, Dawsonville; granddaughter, Marlee Gaddis, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Evelyn and Jerry Woods, Cumming, Joyce and Jimmy Henderson, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Danny and Regina Lee, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 2 o’clock at Concord Baptist Church.  The remains will be placed in state at 1 o’clock.  Dr. Scott Gilbert and Rev. Shawn Wright will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
