A son of the late Bernice Carter and Bertie Bell Stowe Carter, he was born August 7, 1954, In Bessemer, Alabama, having lived most of his life in Toccoa. He retired from Coats and Clark with 45 years of service. He was a member of Highpoint Community Worship Center and involved with the food ministry at the church. He loved to trade, cut grass, drive heavy equipment and drive a Mack truck and haul mobile homes. He loved to travel with his bride of 27 years and always making people laugh. He liked everyone he would meet and if he did not know them ,well he did before he left. Jackie loved his kids and all his family and grandkids.
Jackie was an amazing man, at 62 years old Jackie and Brenda had 4 of their grandkids come live with them. There was not a thought about it. If they needed anything he got it for them. Taylor Tuck our oldest granddaughter needed a special needs van for her powerchair and he was on it. He went and found one and said let's go get it. He thought of them as our kids, and he loved them so much. Jackie will never be forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Carter and Johnny Carter.
