Alan Randolph Woodie, age 71 of Mt. Airy, passed away August 31. 2024.
Born in Atlanta Georgia on January 14, 1953, Randy was the son of the late William and Charlotte Buford Woodie and was raised by his grandparents the late Frank and Elsie Woodie. Randy was a United States Air Force and Georgia Army National Guard veteran and he worked with the VA Office as a Benefit Representative for 10 years. Randy was a Master Mason and member of the Conyers Masonic Lodge, #178 F&AM. Randy loved motorcycles and enjoyed riding for over 20 years. He was also a gun enthusiast who enjoyed collecting all types of guns both new and old. More than anything, Randy loved spending time with family and friends and traveling to the mountains and beach, as well as biking and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Bailey Woodie of Mt. Airy, step daughter Lisa Bailey Garman (Brook), step son David Anthony Bailey, granddaughter Alexia Bailey Garman, brothers the late Chuck Woodie, the late Ronnie Woodie, Walter Hickox, Joe Woodie and Steve McGuire, sisters the late Patricia Woodie, Robin Worthy, Vicki Bennett and Marci Sloan, special cousin Robert “Dink” Woodie (Tammy) as well as numerous niece and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at American Legion in Toccoa on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with full military honors.
