Kelly Kimbro, age 85, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He was preceded in death by parents, Homer and Callie Kimbro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Cecil Pettit, Patricia and David Buice, Noble Jackson. Mr. Kimbro is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Lou Brown Kimbro; son, Chris Kimbro of Sugar Hill; sister-in-law, Vivian Jackson Israel of Monroe, GA; nieces, Pattie Buice of Braselton, GA, Allison (Joey) Cantrell of Flowery Branch, GA, JoEllen (Joe) Colee of Mississippi; nephews, David Israel, Charles (Natasha Israel of Monroe; and several cousins. Mr. Kimbro was born on November 18, 1938 in Lawrenceville, GA. He graduated in 1957 from Buford High School where he played football, baseball, and basketball. He retired from Life of GA Insurance Company after forty years of service. Mr. Kimbro was a member of First Baptist Church in Buford where he was also a member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Mr. Dale Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18 at the funeral home.
