Joan Helen Adam

Ms. Joan Helen Adam, 87, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Born on January 18, 1937 in Webster City, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Lucelia Whaley Mellinger.

Ms. Adam Graduated with a Master’s Degree in Library Science. She retired as Director of Sequoyah Regional Library System.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Adam was preceded in death by her sons, Jim and Bob Adam.

Ms. Adam is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Bennett of Flowery Branch; sons and daughters in law, Tom and Susan Adam of Flowery Branch, David and Kim Adam of Cleveland; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a number of other loving relatives.
