Delores Jean Kennedy-Sanders, age 59, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, October 14, 2024.
Born on February 12, 1965, in Berkeley, California, Delores spent over 20 years managing various convenience stores before dedicating herself to raising her youngest child. Known for her warm heart and ever-present smile, she touched the lives of everyone she met, always offering a helping hand. Her joy, laughter, and love will be deeply missed.
Delores is survived by her loving husband, Carl Sanders; her daughters, Helena Sanders and Athena Kennedy (and son-in-law Paul Nicholas); her step-son, DeJuan Sanders; her grandchildren, Julian Sanders, Lindsey Thomason (and grandson-in-law Kaleb Thomason); and her great-grandson, Kolton Thomason. She is also survived by her brother, David Kennedy, her sisters-in-law, Cynettie Lester and Rave Sanders, and her brothers-in-law, Dwight Sanders and Donald Sanders.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Kennedy, her mother, Carol Kennedy, her brother, Craig Kennedy and her brother-in-law, DeWayne Sanders.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, GA 30504.
