Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Jean Parks Savage, age 97 of Maysville, Georgia (Holly Springs Community) who entered rest Friday, October 11, 2024. Mrs. Savage was born in Pendergrass, Georgia a daughter of the late Arthur Guy “Cap” Parks and the late Myrtie Langford Parks. Mrs. Savage was a homemaker and a member of the Holly Springs Methodist Church. Mrs. Savage spent many years enjoying quilting with her quilting group, the “Sew and Sews”. They always donated the proceeds of their quilt sales to the Church. After she lost her vision, she enjoyed her books-on-tape. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Savage is preceded by her husband, Howard Denver “Dood” Savage. Sister, Frances P. Marlowe, brothers, A.G. “Buster” Parks, and Mack Otis Parks.
Survivors include a son, Howard Denver “Rusty” Savage, Jr. of Maysville. Two daughters, Carol Savage Mills (Bruce) of Hoschton and Nancy Savage Dugas (Thom) of Maysville.
Grandchildren, Daniel Jones and Jason Jones of San Francisco, California, Casey Dugas Montgomery (Matt) of Doha, Qatar, Kevin Dugas of Denver, Colorado, Nikki Mills of Hoschton, Suzee Mills (Nicole) of Lawrenceville, Jacqi Mills Rodriguiz (Auston) of Flowery Branch, Angee Mills Worley (Jake) of Winder, and Soffi Mills of Crawford.
Great grandchildren, Jackston Rodriguiz and Corbin Rodriguiz of Flowery Branch, Lucy Mills of Lawrenceville and Durham Worley of Winder.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 14, 2024 from the Holly Springs Methodist Church Cemetery with Jimmy and Guy Dean Benson officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
